Front F.N.5 Gun Turret Restoration (these photos are copyright)

The front Fraser Nash F.N.5 Gun turret was removed from the nose and refurbished last summer. The project took two weeks to complete.

Preparing for the lift

Easy does it..!

After pressure washing.. most of the original paint is still intact

Upon removal of the paint the metal was like new

Once the primer was dry the first of two coats of Satin Black were applied

Looking very smart in its new paint

Test fitting of the plexi panels. Some minor trimming was required

Port elevator removed for restoration.

Original panel refitted. This was rebuilt by John Spinks

Newly installed prop and throttle levers. Not an easy task..!

Temporary Wireless/Op installation

The first step to making a new Radio operators bulkhead cutting the pattern out in paper

Transferring Paper to Card

New wooden Bulkhead installed, test fitting of the TR11554.

Newly installed TR1154/55 Radios.Repainted the area around the radio installation.
